We do not collect any sensitive personal information unless there is a clear reason for doing so, for example relating to a volunteer’s health, and only where appropriate. Where appropriate will only collect sensitive personal information with the volunteer’s consent, and clear notices will be provided on applications and other relevant forms and communications, so you know what information we need and why we need it.

We may use your personal information for:

Emailing Newsletters – where you give us your consent, we will email you newsletters informing you about our work.

Contacting Volunteers – where you give us your consent, we will email you information about how you can help support our work by giving up your time, along with updates on the impact of your work. We may also text or phone you regarding volunteer work.

Volunteers and Job applicants – if you apply for a job with us or volunteer, we’ll hold the personal information you provide to process your application. If we need to disclose information to a third party, we will not do so without asking you beforehand (e.g. if we need to take up a reference).

If you do apply to work with us, we’ll only hold your data for the purposes of that application.

 

When we may share personal information

We treat personal information confidentially, and will never rent, swop or sell your personal information to other organisations for them to use in their own marketing activities.

Telephone numbers for volunteer’s are also stored in the Health & Wellbeing Directors mobile telephone which is password protected.

We have security measures in place to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed.

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for.
